OneSubsea, www.onesubsea.slb.com
- Position: Business Development Manager
- Type: Retained Search, Direct Hire
- Challenge: FRAMO Engineering, precursor to OneSubsea, hired Ensearch on a retained basis to fill (2) key roles to help develop and grow their subsea product line market in the GOM. The incumbent had moved on to Chevron and the position had to be filled with an experienced engineer who also had strong people skills and experience managing the entire sales process for long lead items like subsea pumping systems – 18 – 20 months in advance. FRAMO recognized the inherent advantage in having a Houston based BDM who could develop relationships with key decision makers located in Houston, using techniques beyond those traditionally employed in Europe such as hunting, fishing, golfing and other sporting functions that in the long term, help solidify business relationships that translate to more orders and requested the same in presented candidates.
- Delivery: Through networking and headhunting techniques, we presented (2) outstanding candidates with a broad range of experience in subsea business development. Chosen candidate was an excellent recruit as he brought with him a BSEE & MSEE with 10+ years hands-on subsea and downhole manufacturing and design experience. As part of the selection process, we required each interviewing candidate to deliver a 30 minute PowerPoint Presentation that covered several projects, scope of responsibility, delivery, lessons learned and how those lessons learned were shared within the company and demonstrate how they would add value to the FRAMO organization. The placed candidate has since been promoted so we are proud of a great recruit. Moreover, because of our success in filling this role, we were hired to again fill a BDM role with another product line, subsea meter systems, which we have done successfully.
